Drift.

Approach

Mostly defined by what it will not do.

Planners for scattered attention usually fail the same way: they add pressure and call it motivation. Here are the four patterns Drift will not ship.

No streaks

A streak turns one missed day into a reason to abandon the whole system. Drift keeps no record of consecutive anything.

No badges or points

Extrinsic reward reliably erodes the intrinsic kind. If the only reason to open the app is a number going up, we have built the wrong thing.

No red

Nothing overdue is ever shown in red, and nothing is ever counted. An old task is simply an old task, listed quietly with the rest.

No notifications by default

Every notification is off until you turn it on, one at a time, and each one explains exactly what will trigger it.

Honestly

Removing all of that makes Drift worse at engagement metrics and better at the thing it is for. That is a deliberate trade, and it is why there is no free tier propped up by attention.
